Celebrating the rise and "fall" of creative growth

I am in the middle of launching two of the most revolutionary programs of my career for 2012–The Fire Tree Method’s ® Creative Catalyst & Creative Catalyst MBA Programs and The Art of Entrepreneurship™ Creative Mastermind. I am taking a radical approach in birthing something bold and new, something that is desperately needed on a global scale. And my own fears are creeping in. The voice of the inner-critic lizard-brain taunts me asking…‘Can you pull this off?’ It brings me to my own edges of what I believed was possible for me, for others and for …YOU!
There is nothing like either program out there. They are both wonderfully unique and unbelievably life-altering. It is requiring every bit of bravery and courage that I can muster to create such an experience for people….for the world…for myself. To do it differently, to listen and act on my intuition, go out into the unknown and embrace the mystery of the unknown. Embrace the void.
The details, dates and applicants are all coming together and I am meeting my fears of success, commitment and of stepping into my highest potential as a visionary and trail blazer. The intensity of it all just about knocked the wind out of me.
Last week, while letting my dog out in the rain, I had a big fall on the wet limestone back patio (I’m OK). It scared the hell out of me and shook me to my core. All my life flashed before me. Inviting me to slow down. Breathe and remember the preciousness of life.
Even with such a distraction as a big fall, I was reminded that it is wired in every cell of my body to birth these programs. It has been years of visioning, training, experiences, knowingness and passion that has prepared me for this coming year of my highest contribution yet. And even though the fears and distractions come to jolt us from our center, it is the ability to stay focused and trust in the creative Source that leads us through the tunnel of the unknown and into manifesting our dreams. We must learn to let go and allow ourselves to fall.
So yes, I fell. And I fell hard. I was alone, scared, sad and vulnerable. What I did differently than in the past was that I felt my humanity entirely and embraced every second of my vulnerability, surrendering to it without letting it keep me down on the ground.
I am reminded that fear is actually a powerful catalyst on the creative journey. It invites us to to step into our next level of growth. So if you aren’t dancing with your own fears then you aren’t living. Fear is what calls us to our next best self. Even if you fall you will realize that you can get back up. That you are invincible AND human. That people who love you will support you and care for you when you reach out for it…and sometimes even when you don’t.
So celebrate your fears! They are whispering you forward, teasing you tirelessly to step up, step out and fall into the unknown of your next best self and grow through it. If you fall you might just realize how strong your really are and how much support your really have.
